Greater Minnesota Summer Tech Programs

As the school year kicks off and our summer programs wrap up, we’re excited to send our students off with all their newly gained tech knowledge! Our summer programs in Rochester and St. Cloud served middle and high school students which offered web development courses for both.

Our middle school web development class focuses on a broad introduction to website functionality. The intent is to make the content fun and engaging with the use of visual tools to keep things simple. The students are introduced to basic concepts like HTML and CSS in which they create their own web pages by using basic styling techniques. Alternatively, the high schoolers are expected to take on more independent projects applying what they’ve learned in class to create full functioning websites from scratch. They take a deeper dive into other coding languages such as JavaScript in which they learn about concepts like variables, loops, arrays, etc. Additionally, they collaborate on group projects and replicate real-world web development scenarios.

With one successful summer behind us and many more to come, we take great pride in having empowered these students to expand their knowledge and skills giving them a necessary a head start in tech. It’s exciting to see our mission in action every day, as we create pathways to success for the youth in our communities!
